The National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon Aminu Mu’azu Maifata has expressed strong commitment to the presidential initiative on clean energy transportation in the country.
Speaking through the ALGON Director General, Sir Itiako Ikpokpo, Maifata said that ALGON has noted the gains attached to such innovation and will partner with the Federal Ministry of transportation, the Nigeria Institute of Transport Technology and other critical stakeholders to ensure the success.
He said the the training aspect of the programme was necessary to get the rural off-takers properly informed on the technology and operational components.
He stated that such technology needed to be deployed with good technical support with regards to both the autogas conversion and other vital knowledge required.
He promised that ALGON will endeavor to reach out to the grassroots where already so many Nigerians are facing the biting hardship of cost of fuel coupled with economic challenges.
The ALGON National President said that such energy transition will see many organizations, groups, individuals and people key into it due to its value chain and gains and will create jobs and curtail insecurity as well as rising urban drift.
He canvassed for holistic expansion of the technology across 774 Area Councils to make a reasonable impact of the P-CNG which according to him is a concern to the Association.

in his address said that promoting CNG value chain is of huge economic benefit and call for deployment of competent technology to address all challenges noting that
today meeting is designed to make a way forward on the success recorded
Other stake holders who spoke at the are the Director Business Development of P-CNG Mrs Omola Obileye who pointed out that alternative energy will support the present administration in making jobs available and creating wealth.
She promised that the organisation will grow the infrastructure, train and deliver successfully for after sales needs. According to her, it is hoped that the drive will position the country as a leader in the CNG technology space. ALGON was also accompanied by the erstwhile Deputy National President Hon Shehu Marshal Jega, Hon Nuhu Ozigy the ALGON Director of Finance and Account’s with others in attendance. Sunrisereporters.
